'PAYLOS' VARIETY (VICIA FABA)

It is a Greek variety that came from synthesis of half sibs clones. It is characterized as an early mature high yielding winter type variety, which is well adapted to the Greek environments and possess a cold hardiness until -10o C and also a high resistance to Sclerotinia spp. and many faba beans viruses

Seeds are larger to ‘Solon’ variety, human kidney shaped, with even less tannin content.
Protein content is between 22-24%. Natural amino acids and phosphorus element are plenty and grains are a very good source of energy.
‘Pavlos’ finally, is necessary to crop rotation as it enriches fields with plenty of azotobacterium.
